Lumileds announced the launch of LUXEON HL4X power LED with the highest light output and light efficiency in the lighting industry. It facilitates the ability of lighting manufacturers to standardize designs around shared package baseboard specifications and demonstrates that meaningful LED efficiency improvements are still possible. LUXEON HL4X is designed for outdoor and industrial applications such as stadium lights, street lamps and high-bay fixtures where high light density, light efficiency, stability and light quality are critical, Regardless of the application or environment, its high-power dome package provides ultra-high optical output, superior light efficiency, light color stability and span life.

With a 4mm2 chip, LUXEON HL4X has a typical light output of 680lm at 700mA and a typical light efficiency of over 168 lm/W, which provides a simple and seamless upgrade to virtually any existing application for manufacturers using a similar 3535 package. The engineers also managed the optical design so that other existing optics based on the 3535 solution would be compatible with the new LED.
